Delete your account in The Vaulted Spine

You can request permanent account deletion from within The Vaulted Spine through the account controls in Settings. Permanent deletion is different from temporary account deactivation.

When you request permanent deletion, access to the account ends immediately and permanent deletion is scheduled seven days after the request.

Request deletion from the web

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by emailing The Vaulted Spine Support from the email address associated with your account. Include your Vaulted Spine username, if known, so we can identify the correct account. We may need to verify that you are the account holder before completing the request.

What is deleted

Permanent account deletion includes the account identity and associated private personal records, including private Library, TBR, Edition, eligible Edition media, Journal material, and comparable personal account data.

Private records are not converted into community content when an account is deleted.

What may be retained

Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute, moderation, or other legitimate obligations. Residual backup copies may remain for a limited period and are not returned to ordinary active use merely because a backup is restored.

Shared community contributions may remain in anonymized or disassociated form where appropriate to preserve conversations. Legal, security, moderation, support, and transaction records may be retained for a period reasonably necessary for their purpose or as required by law.

Deactivation is different

Account deactivation provides a 90-day recovery period. During that period the account is inactive while account information is retained so you can reactivate it. If you do not reactivate during the recovery period, permanent deletion is finalized.

Subscriptions

Deleting your Vaulted Spine account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Marketplace subscriptions must be canceled separately through the applicable marketplace account.
